Board & Train programs for adult dogs and puppies
Want a Well-Behaved Dog You Can Take Anywhere?
From coastal trips to downtown patios to mountain hikes – finally have a dog that comes when called and walks calmly by your side, no matter where life takes you.
Is your dog pulling you down the street?
Jumping on guests?
Ignoring you when something shiny catches their attention?
You’re not alone, and I’ve been there myself. Most dog owners face these challenges, and the good news is they’re completely solvable with the right training approach.
Red Dirt Dog Training transforms dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies to determined adults —into the well-behaved, reliable companions you’ve always dreamed of.
Through our successful board & train programs, we work with dogs and their families throughout Corvallis, Eugene, Philomath, Albany, and Benton & Linn Counties.
Located elsewhere in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest?
We’d love to work with you, too!
Give us a call to discuss pick-up and drop-off services for board and train programs. Additional travel fees may apply for locations outside of Western Oregon.
Why Board & Trains Work
When your dog stays with us, they stay with us on our seven-acre property and receive:
✅ Multiple daily one-on-one training sessions in a structured, focused environment
✅ Consistent practice that builds new habits quickly
✅ Real-world field trips to local stores, trails, and urban areas
✅ Professional guidance from a Certified Canine Trainer & Behavior Specialist
✅ Fun activities including structured play, pack walks, and scent work, as well as time to just hang out and chill.
When your dog completes our program, you get a transformed dog AND the knowledge to maintain their training long-term.
Please note: At this time, we do not work with aggressive dogs, including those with human or dog bite histories. If you need behavior modification for an aggressive dog, we can refer you to qualified trainers.

Client Testimonials

“Being able to work with Abbie has been such a pleasure. From start to finish, she has been one of the biggest support systems for me & my 1.5 year old Catahoula, Addie.
Through the 21-day Board & Train, Abbie worked with us on a training plan, helped us pivot with the plan as needed and catered to where I was within my circumstances. She soon learned my pup’s pace, learning abilities and was able to help me create clear communication between me and my pup—something I later learned was SO invaluable.”

“This was a life changer for me and my Best Friend Kylo who is a 3 year old Bassett Hound with lots of personalty. Now with Abbie’s training we can go for walks without him pulling me and he can go to work with me with better manners. The best part of her training is she works with what works with you and your dog… not just one style fits all. I should have done this when he was a puppy! Thank you so much we were blessed to have chosen the right Trainer!!!”
Rebecca S.
“I adopted a 10 1/2 month old Doberman mix. He had a lot of behavioral issues (leash pulling, lunging, annxiety, easily distracted, and more). I was overwhelmed and worried the adoption would not work out. I enlisted the help of dog trainer Abbie from Red Dirt Dog Training. Best decision I could have made. Abbie It’s a delight to work with. She’s patient, nonjudgmental and positive. My dogs behavior has greatly improved from the start. I highly recommend Red Dirt Dog Training!”

Frequently Asked Questions
“What if this doesn’t work for my dog?”
We understand that every dog is individual and create personalized training plans for your dog’s personality and your training goals. It’s essential to understand that a board and train lays the foundation, it’s up to the owner to maintain the structure for continued success.
“Is my dog too old/young for board and train?”
Nope! We work with dogs of all ages. Older dogs have a lot more practice with their behaviors, so change can take more time, but the adage that an “old dog can’t learn new tricks” is simply not true!
“I’m worried about leaving my dog for weeks.”
We get it! It’s a long time to hand your dog over to someone you don’t know! We provide regular updates, photos, and videos throughout your dog’s stay, and many owners are amazed by how quickly their dogs settle into our routine.
“Will my dog remember their training when they come home?”
Yes, and…the key to training is consistency. If you do not continue the work after your dog goes home, they’ll revert back to old behaviors. Our comprehensive owner education ensures you can maintain and build upon everything your dog learns during their stay.
