Puppy Success Program

Build the Foundation for a Lifetime of Adventures

Set your puppy up for success from the very beginning.

Puppies are cute, but they’re kinda a lot…

You were so excited to get a puppy, but the honeymoon stage has worn off after middle-of-the-night wake ups, constant accidents, and the biting. So. Much. Biting.

Let me guess, you’re experiencing some of the following:

Constant Supervision

You feel like you need eyes in the back of your head. Every moment requires vigilance—watching for accidents, chewing on your shoes or furniture, or escaping out the door.

Painful Play Sessions

Your puppy is constantly biting your hands and feet during what should be fun bonding time. Yours arms look like you walked through a blackberry bush and you’re wondering if this is normal.

House Training Setbacks

Despite your best efforts, accidents keep happening. You’re frustrated, your floors are suffering, and you’re not sure what you’re doing wrong.

Information Overload

Conflicting advice online and in books leaves you paralyzed. YouTube says one thing, your neighbor says another, and you’re more confused than when you started.

Relationship Strain

You’re worried you’re not doing this right and it keeps you up at night. You fear you’re damaging your bond or creating problems that will last a lifetime.

Picture this: Your puppy settles calmly in their crate, can chill by your feet at your favorite patio, and is neutral around other dogs and people. You have a puppy you adore and are excited to take everywhere because they’re well-behaved and listen to you.

Our Puppy Success program gives your 8-20 week old puppy intensive foundation training in our calm, structured environment on 7 acres of rural property. After they complete the program, you get the knowledge and tools to continue their success at home.

Your Puppy Will Master:

✅ Reliable potty training

✅ Crate training

✅ Calm, polite greetings without jumping

✅ Walking on leash without pulling

✅ Neutrality around other dogs, people, and environments

✅ Responding to their name and basic commands

✅ Settling quietly instead of demanding attention

✅ Confidence around new sights, sounds, and experiences

✅ Learning to play with toys, not your hand

The best time to train your puppy is NOW—the day you bring them home. It’s infinitely easier to establish good habits from the start than to fix reactivity, anxiety, and aggression later. This isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about building the foundation for 12-15 years of adventures together.

“I cannot recommend Abbie and Red Dirt Dog Training enough! Getting a puppy can be intimidating, but the RDDT puppy raise & train program set us up for success. Not only did Abbie provide our boy Arthur the Border Collie with the fundamental skills he needs to thrive as a pet, she tailored his training to be appropriate for living and being successful in a city.

I cannot fathom getting a puppy another way – especially a working breed. Abbie provided us with the tools needed to support Arthur and maintain his training in a digestible and manageable way. All said, Red Dirt Dog Training’s puppy raise & train program is worth every penny, and saves the owners a lot of the stress of the early days of training a pup.

“Abbie was so helpful and understanding with my corgi puppy. I am new to being a dog owner and Abbie was able to ease my anxiety with providing my puppy with a great start in training. I couldn’t recommend a person more than Abbie. I will be returning for future sessions. Thank you Abbie!!”

My puppy, Banjo, and I had the best experience with Abbie! Banjo’s grown from a really shy puppy to a confident teenage dog. Abbie’s patience, understanding and willingness to tailor the training to our needs and goals was really amazing. She was able to break situations down for me so I now have a better understanding of my dog and his needs. We’re so grateful for Red Dirt Dog Training and will continue to grow with the skills and tools that we’ve learned AND continue lessons! I can’t say enough positive things!

Questions? We got you!

Q: Is my puppy too young for training?

A: Actually, 8-20 weeks is the PERFECT time to start! This is your puppy’s critical learning period when their brain is most receptive to new experiences and habit formation. Waiting until problems develop makes training much harder and less effective. Plus, there are certain experiences you can only develop during this time, like exposure.

Q: Why not wait until my puppy is older and “settles down”?

A: Dogs don’t naturally “settle down”—they learn to settle through training, proper mental and physical outlets, and structure. Every day of practicing jumping, biting, and ignoring you makes these behaviors stronger. It’s like waiting until weeds take over your garden before you plant your garden.

Q: Will my puppy still bond with me if they train with someone else?

A: Absolutely! Professional training actually strengthens your bond by giving you both a common language. Your puppy will return home more confident and responsive, and you’ll have the tools to continue building your relationship on a foundation of clear communication.

Q: Isn’t it better to train my puppy myself?

A: You absolutely should be involved in your puppy’s training, but getting professional help during this critical window ensures you’re building the right foundation from day one. You’ll learn alongside your puppy and gain the confidence to continue their training effectively. Working with a dog trainer is no different than seeking a professional to roof your house. Could you do it? Maybe. But there’s a reason that person is a pro!

Q: Can’t I just do group puppy classes instead?

A: Group classes have their place, but most of them focus on playing with other puppies and running around, not building real life skills. During this critical 8-20 week window, your puppy needs focused, individualized attention. Our program provides intensive daily training that addresses your specific puppy’s needs without the chaos and distractions of group settings.

Q: What if my puppy doesn’t have behavior problems yet?

A: That’s exactly when training is most effective! Prevention is infinitely easier than correction. Establishing good habits now prevents future problems like reactivity, separation anxiety, and aggression. Think of it as an investment in 12-15 years of stress-free adventures together.

Q: How do I maintain the training when my puppy comes home?

A: You’ll receive comprehensive owner education sessions and a detailed take-home plan. We don’t just train your puppy—we train you too. You’ll understand exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to continue building on their foundation skills.

Q: Is the investment worth it for such a young puppy?

A: Consider the alternative: months or years of behavioral issues, potential vet bills from anxiety-related problems, damage to your home and belongings, and the stress of living with an unmanaged dog. Two weeks of professional training now saves you years of frustration and thousands in potential costs later.
